Produce & Bread Room

 For those who need help in the cities of Des Moines, most of SeaTac, and the West Hill of Kent, Washington. You can order your food to go here, if you do not want to come into the foodbank.

Families can visit once a month and receive a mix of canned, fresh, and frozen food. Families typically receive enough food to last 12-15 days.  See FAQ for more details.  

The Community Pantry serves anyone with a College ID number. Through a partnership with Highline College, United Way of King County, and the Des Moines Area Food Bank we are able to offer a selection of FREE grab-and-go lunches, snacks, fruits and veggies, and drinks.

Our Services

The Produce & Bread Room is open each weekday morning (Monday thru Friday) from 9:00-11:45am. You can visit the Produce & Bread room as often as you like, just check in at the front desk when you arrive!


At the end of each week during the school year, children can receive a backpack full of nutritious food for the weekend. Students at the following schools can contact their school office to find out how to receive food:

  • North Hill Elementary

Emergency Food Service and Meals To Go

Each summer we provide free meals for kids and teens (ages 1-18) at neighborhood parks, apartment complexes, and community centers. For information on this program, see our Meals for Kids page!

Weekend Backpack Program

Highline College Community Pantry

Our mobile garden truck goes to schools, libraries, senior centers, and community events to teach kids and adults about growing and eating healthy food. 


Cooking Classes are scheduled for the final Tuesday of each month from 10:00am - 12noon. A partnership with Washington State University extension, participants will learn how to make tasty, nutritious meals using ingredients commonly found at the food bank. At the conclusion of the class, participants receive groceries from the Food Bank!
